Top 5 Musicals of 2025

By Sam

We’re closing 2025 with a final look back at some of the best musicals (both old and new) to have graced the stage this year. There have been countless original productions, transfers, and revivals which have received multiple standing ovations, so without further ado…

One of my favourite films of the past 10 years made it’s long awaited UK premiere this summer, as John Carney’s beloved coming-of-age story celebrated the music of the 80s and blew audiences away by igniting a hopeful music-fuelled generation.

Having seen the show at two theatres this year, it’s safe to say that Mel Brooks' laugh-a-minute revival is by far the silliest show on the West End right now, having made a triumphant return after too long of an absence.

Dave Malloy’s genre-bending musical hit all the right notes and simply got better with age, as this ‘complicated Russian novel’ was charismatically brought to life through immense creativity and an ensemble which were nothing short of spectacular.

Regent’s Park hosted the highly anticipated London Transfer of Broadway’s corniest new musical, as Robert Horn’s riotously funny comedy musical had audience howling with laughter, as it became the mother-shucking theatrical highlights of the year!

Luke Sheppard marmalade covered masterpiece is without a doubt one of the most heartfelt, funny, and transformative, original British musicals that the stage has seen in years, with a production that will transport even the biggest kids back to their youth through pure theatrical magic.

A final huge thank you to everyone that has supported Stage Masters throughout 2025.
To all the amazing brands and PR teams we’ve had the pleasure of working alongside, my incredible team for all of your hard work … THANK YOU!

Wishing you all a fabulous New Years and see you all for a theatre filled 2026!
